Jeanette (Jan) Key

Jeanette Key (1933 – 1921) known as Jan, was born on 15th June 1933 a younger sister to Phyllis and Olive.  Jan grew up and went to school in Ladywood, Birmingham.  Jan met her future husband Jeff whilst working as a trainee secretary at Guest, Keen and Nettlefolds (GKN).  They married when Jan worked as a secretary at Mitchells and Butlers (M&B). Following a move north where Jan became a nurse, she and Jeff moved to Sevenoaks. They bought the Village Gallery in Brasted where Jan sold upgraded stripped pine furniture.  Jan belonged to the Women’s Institute (WI) and her hobbies included drama, singing and oil painting.  Jan and Jeff had three children, Adrian, Barbara and Kate, three granddaughters and four great-grandsons.
