Peter William Hardisty
Peter William Hardisty (1931 – 2021) was born in Leeds on 29th June to William and Jessie Hardisty, a younger brother to Molly. Peter joined the Green Howards, where for seven years he spent time serving in Malaya and in the UK he was stationed on Salisbury Plain. Peter married June on 7th June 1954 at St Cyprian’s Church, Harehills. They had three children Lynne, Janet and David. Initially living at Wortley, Peter worked in Ossett as a signal engineer and at a local shoddy mill. Later, working for British Rail, Peter and June moved to Stevenage before returning to Yorkshire after Peter retired, settling in Skelmanthorpe. Peter’s interests included off-road driving in his Suzuki Jimny, gardening, walking his dogs and genealogy. He had five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren
