Martin Chandos Taylor
Martin Chandos Taylor (1952 – 2020) was born in Chelsea on 23rd May 1952 to Alfred and Lady Ursula Taylor, the youngest brother to Peter and John. Martin’s childhood was spent in Kew, attending a school in Gunnersbury. Martin took a degree in Arabic and Oriental Studies at university before joining International Computers Ltd (ICL). Martin changed jobs many times, working in the private, public and charity sectors, moving from programming to IT security. Martin was a linguist, but enjoyed dismantling and building computer hardware, reading and music. He played the tuba, playing with the Wantage Silver Band and he was chair of the Oxfordshire and District Brass Band Association for several years. Martin lived in Newbury, then Grove until 2006 and after other moves, he settled after retirement in Swindon. With his first wife, Ruth, Martin had two sons, David and Alec. Later, Martin married Sue and became stepfather to her two sons Alistair and Matthew.
