Andrew (Andy) Paul Cooper
Andrew Paul Cooper (1954 – 2022), Andy, was born to Ben and Enid Cooper in Marple, Cheshire on 15th January 1954, the younger brother to Gerald and Janet. After leaving school in 1972 Andy went to Derby College to study Geology. After graduating in 1975, Andy had various jobs before retraining as a Computer Programmer joining British Telecom (BT) in 1984. In 1985 Margaret joined the same team and they were married in 1993. Robert was born in 1994 and Phoenix in 1997. Andy and his family shared many interests including skiing, roller coasters, beach holidays, and in 2019 they had a memorable holiday walking along the Equator in Quito, visited the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu. Andy was very interested in NASA and made several visits to the Space Center. Andy’s other interests included music and wildlife, volunteering for the Kent Wildlife Rescue Service. Andy was a lifelong supporter of Stockport County football team later becoming President of the Kent Branch of the Stockport County Supporters Club. Andy was a member of Humanists UK.
