Lorraine Rowan Smith
Lorraine Rowan Smith (1962 – 2017) was born on 21st August 1962 to Dorothy and Slavko / John, the elder sister to Denise and Darren. Lorraine secured a place at Mountview Drama School in London, later being a founder of the Big Little theatre Group and a member of the Arena Theatre in Christchurch and the Highcliffe Charity Players. Lorraine was a talented actress and singer, performing in a one-woman play about the life of Edith Piaf and singing Jazz across Europe and in the USA. She won many awards including Best Actress for her performance in Barnum.
As a result of working with military veterans, Lorraine was made an Honorary Colonel of the 29th Infantry Division. Lorraine had a daughter Emma and a granddaughter Ada. Two weeks before her death, Lorraine married Phil who she had met when she auditioned for a role in one of his Jazz, Swing and Vintage Nights.
