Kathleen (Katie) Hogan
Kathleen Hogan (1944 – 2023), known as Katie, was born in Bristol, the third child of Bill and Ivy Bond, a sister to John, Hazel and Ryan. After the family moved to Dublin in 1948, Katie attended the Diocesan Girls School. Katie worked as an Accounts Clerk for Norwich Union in Dublin where she met John. Katie and John married in Edinburgh in June 1967 and they lived in Dumfries and then Elderslie. They had three children, Jill and the twins Linda and Brian. As John moved locations with his work, Katie worked in Scotland at Cool Foods, Acketts the builders in Billericay and JB Garage Doors in Maidstone as well as involving herself in voluntary work and the local community. In Allington Katie joined ALLARA and the Lions and she was a steward at the Kent County Show for over 20 years. Katie was a proficient dressmaker, making fancy dress costumes for her children and in later years costumes for the local theatre companies Bric, Roundabout and Changeling. Katie was ‘Nana’ to Joseph, Olivia, Patrick and Hamish.
