Lister Clive Beeley (1937 – 2021), Clive, was born on 25 November 1937 to Gladys and Fred Beeley in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya, the older brother to Antony.  Gladys and her sons managed to flee the Japanese invasion in 1943 but Fred died after being taken prisoner.  After attending Bradford Grammar School, Clive read Chemistry at Bristol University, before training and becoming a teacher at Firth Park Grammar School in Sheffield.

Clive always liked walking, he climbed, played tennis and cricket, ice skated and played the piano.  His other interests included, the weather, Astronomy, canals, propagating plants and he was a fan of Westerns, Jane Austen and A. E. Houseman.  Clive trained as a silversmith at night school and had his own mark registered.  He was Treasurer for the Hallamshire Gun Club, where he went clay pigeon shooting.

Meeting Carolyn Earnshaw in 1968, they were married on 27 July 1972, lived in Stannington, and had two children, Simon and Fiona and three grandchildren, Melissa, Jessica and Jasmine.  After retirement, Clive and Carolyn travelled across Australia and New Zealand, all over Europe as well as visiting Hawaii and Ireland.
