Adam Wharton

Adam Wharton (1984 – 2014) was the second child of Amanda and Ken. His sister and brother were Bex and Josh. He spent parts of his childhood in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, and he loved being outdoors, sailing, snorkelling, and playing with his friends. When he was 11 the family settled in Yorkshire.

At Kirkburton Middle School, he found great friends but didn’t apply himself, though he coasted through his GCSEs.

He became an electrician and went on to become a master of his trade, covering commercial and industrial work. It took him all over the world. As a CompEx electrician he was qualified to work in explosive environments.

He was still young when he became a dad to Leigha and Alfie, and was close to his nephew Harrison.  But he struggled with his demons, and this eventually forced him to stop paid work. His family continued to support him and give him work to do in their homes − he was a bright light in their lives.
