Hayden Keith Jones

Hayden Keith Jones (1943 – 2024) grew up in Barnsley, the only child of Hessie and Bob. On leaving school he worked at Dunlop in Coventry in the avionics department, before returning to Yorkshire to join his father at R C Jones Motor Bodies, starting out as stores manager before becoming an estimator, and finally taking over from his father as Managing Director.

He met his wife Gwyn through his work, and they married in 1966. R C Jones was very much a family firm: Gwyn became Finance Director and their two sons, Nick and Neilson, worked there. They took over when Hayden retired due to ill health.

Hayden and Gwyn then lived in Cyprus for 13 years before returning to Royston in Yorkshire. The couple also enjoyed travelling all over the world.

Hayden was a great family man, and spent much of his later years enjoying his three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
