Denise Gail Atherton

Denise Atherton (1954 – 2024) was the only child of George and Patricia Robinson. When Denise was 18, her mum died and her father remarried, and Denise gained a stepbrother, John. She was also close to her uncle and aunt, and cousin Margaret.

Denise attended Marsh Hill Girls’ Grammar School and then worked as a Food Lab Technician before starting a family. She and her husband, David, were married for 20 years and they had children Nicola and Kevin. The marriage ended and while Denise was living in Sutton Coldfield she met and married Martin in 1998. They lived in Streetly before relocating to Derby.

Denise worked as an office manager for a double-glazing company in Kingstanding, later moving to Plasticlad.

She had excellent IT skills, became a potter and started a business printing canvases.
