Alison Mary Fletcher

Alison Mary Fletcher (1945 – 2025) was born to Edith and Victor Ashworth in Tottington in Greater Manchester, and had an older sister Anne and a younger brother Roger. They moved around the country with her father’s work and ended up in Milverton, Somerset. After leaving secondary school there she trained as a special needs teacher and became Deputy Head aged 22. She worked at Huxley Primary School for a number of years.

She met her husband Steve Fletcher when she was living in Kennington and they married in October 1970 in Burnham-on-Sea, where her mother was living. They then moved to Penge, then Yorkshire, and finally to Cheshire. They had four children, James, Adam, Emily, and Hannah, and nine grandchildren. She was devoted to her work and her family.
