Barbara Ann Woodhead
Barbara Ann Woodhead (1946 – 2025) was the only child of Florrie and Frank Furby and grew up in High Wycombe. After Wycombe High School, she read History at Exeter University and moved to London. She soon joined the British Standards Institution as a technical editor and stayed until retirement; her work included being a member of the European Committee for Standardisation.
She married David Woodhead in 1977 and they lived in north London near Hampstead Heath. From 1990 they also lived part of the time in Millau in France.
Barbara joined the Labour Party in 1979 and became a long-standing, active member of the Hampstead branch.
